Orlando, FLA (Aug. 25, 2015) – As part of a movement to bring the towed water sports industry to its next level, the WSIA (Water Sports Industry Association) announced two new hires effective July 1, 2015. Known as the industry’s leading trade association that promotes and protects towed water sports, the WSIA is pleased to announce Kevin Michael as Assistant Director and Colette Sears as Office Administrator.
WSIA Executive Director Larry Meddock said, “Kevin brings a lifetime of practical experience to his new position, from growing up as a water skier in Wisconsin, to turning professional at the age of 18, then graduating college and becoming the editor of WAKEBOARDING Magazine for many years.”
After his time at Bonnier Corp., Kevin ran his own media business for five years, providing services such as exclusive content, PR and consulting for top brands in the industry as well as non-endemic. Most importantly, Kevin is fueled by a lifelong passion for being on the water with friends and family and the WSIA recognizes that as a valuable attribute for this new role. Kevin will continue with his communications responsibilities and will train under Larry’s guidance to learn everything about the WSIA.
Colette Sears brings 28 years of accounting experience from her time with the top land surveying company in the southeast United States. This Maitland, Florida resident will work in WSIA headquarters daily to answer your calls, process new memberships/renewals, balance the budget and help manage day-to-day operations, while ensuring smooth progress into the long term.
