WSIA Adds Commercial Parasailing Membership
March 18, 2009 - Orlando, Florida
Water Sports Industry Association announces the inclusion of a parasail operator and manufacturer membership in the WSIA. A committee of various operators and manufacturers from both the East and West coasts has come together to formulate best practices and safe operating procedures.
“We are excited about adding this towed water sports discipline that involves a towboat and ancillary equipment which is consistent with other disciplines recognized by WSIA,” says Larry Meddock, Executive Director WSIA.
The first meeting occurred on March 18th, 2009 at WSIA Headquarters in Orlando, FL, during which best practices and safe operating procedures were discussed. Increased availability of commercial parasail insurance was also a topic.
“Being a long time WSIA member, Fineline Industries/Centurion Boats supports this endeavor and encourages other operators and manufacturers to come together to benefit the industry,” said Rick Lee, CEO Fineline Ind. Inc.
“Custom Chutes Inc., the largest parasail manufacturer and newest member of WSIA is enthusiastic and looks forward to the stability and benefits brought to the industry by a membership affiliation with WSIA,” said Chris Abbott, President of Custom Chutes Inc.
The WSIA is a National Trade Organization of watersports manufacturers and dealers. Founded over 30 years ago and headquartered in Orlando, Florida, the WSIA is committed to promoting all towed watersports. The WSIA works closely with government agencies, national governing bodies, and manufacturers (new and old) involved with the many watersport disciplines. The WSIA has become the voice of the watersports industry…accomplishing together what many could not do on their own.
