Gordy Holmes was recently promoted to President and CEO of Connelly Skis/CWB Board Co. It is a well deserved promotion after working very hard for the company for over 30 years in sales and marketing.
Gordy has helped introduce innovative products and guide the company through multiple transformations to adjust the company’s business models as the market changed. All along helping to ensure that Connelly was a solid, reputable, financially sound business that has avoided the financial pitfalls that have plagued too many business in the water sports industry.
Gordy has been passionate about water sports for his entire career. While completing his Business degree from the University of Washington he spent a lot of time waterskiing on Lake Goodwin with family and friends. Over the years he was active in using and testing waterskis and sail boards. The last few years you can find Gordy on almost any sunny day wake surfing on Lake Chelan or paddle boarding around Camano Island. Winter weekends are spent in the mountains with a Burton Vapor strapped to his feet and then at work on Mondays, talking about where he shredded and the avalanche he almost got caught up in while heli-snowboarding.
In October he will celebrate his 38th year of employment at Connelly/CWB. Gordy also serves on the WSIA Board of Directors, on the warning committee and has been integral in developing and promoting water sports safety.
“Gordy is the hardest working guy I know in the industry, putting in long hours five plus days a week consistently for the 22 years I have been with the company”, says Jay Quam – VP Marketing.
Congratulations Gordy for such a long and successful career!
